The Wydale Feeding System: Precision, Health, and Economy
The Wydale System offers a smarter alternative: a method designed for fast, efficient group feeding that respects the individual needs of every calf.
Why It Outperforms Ad Lib Systems
The numbers speak for themselves. While Ad Lib methods often require up to 50kg of milk powder per calf, the Wydale System allows for successful weaning on as little as 15kg. By controlling the intake, you drastically reduce your overhead without sacrificing growth.
Smart Design for Better Digestion
Our unique compartmentalized troughs and integrated cowlings ensure that group feeding doesn't mean "survival of the fittest."
- Controlled Portions: Troughs feature ridges to mark 2-litre (3.5 pint) levels or 3-litre (5.25 pint) levels at the weir.
- Individual Protection: The cowling guides each calf to its own teat and acts as a barrier, preventing faster drinkers from stealing milk from their neighbours.
- Health First: Slow, natural sucking promotes better digestion, while group housing encourages earlier intake of solid starter feed.
Versatility in Every Pen
The Wydale System is designed to adapt to your specific farm layout and calf requirements:
- Flexible Grouping: Easily manage pens of 3, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 calves.
- Targeted Nutrition: Isolate a sick calf by filling its specific compartment with medicated milk or electrolytes, while the rest of the pen receives standard milk.
- Stress-Free Training: Ideal for newborn calves or market-bought stock. For calves that can't yet stand, simply place the feeder on the floor to introduce the first feed without the struggle.
- Simple Logistics: Feeders hang directly on the pen gate at the ideal height (level with the calves' backs) for ergonomic feeding.
